Sangineto, a picturesque little town situated right on the edge of the valley close to a torrent by the same name and on the background a cone shaped hill whose peak is crowned by the Castle that once belonged to the Sanginetos. The town hosts an interesting architectural highlight of the XIV century: the parish church consecrated to "S.Maria della Neve" that, although it was altered in 1586, still retains a XIV century Gothic portal made out of "tufa" stone.

As many towns in the North Tyrrenian Coast, Sangineto has it's old town close to high ground and the "marina" at the seaside called "Sangineto Lido". It is down at the marina that a 14th century castle is located, with it's four cylindrical towers and a large open gallery facing the sea, the Castle of Prince Sangineto stands picturesquely against the clear blue sea.

Sangineto, is a great producer of great oils and wines as well as cereals and different types of fruit including chestnuts and lemons, and once they used to breed also silkworms.
