Like most towns of the Calabrian coast, Guardia Piemontese also has it's historic "old town" located on a high hill, and a coastal part called Guardia Marina.

The old houses of Guardia Piemontese that lay along the streets, the remains of the crumbling walls, and most of the house doors almost, seem to bring us back at a violent episode of religious intolerance and martyrdom around the 14th century.

Today the town songs, antique costumes, and the hairstyles of the senior women, show inspiration to the town's past and it's humble people.

Guardia Piemontese features magnificent historic, social and architectural gems and a great view of the coast. From this enchanting point, with a clean and pure sky, it is very easy to get a sheer glance of the Stromboli Volcano, island of the Eolian Group. Admire from this Calabrian stretch of coast the wild range of mountains and nature that really can recharge your body and spirit.

Very efficient and by now famous are Guardia's spa baths, the "Terme Luigiane", that provide balneotherapy with waters low in mineral contents deriving from three hot springs and one cold spring. These spas also provide algae and mud baths, gynaecologic and dermatologic treatments of various kinds hosting excellent and comfortable accommodation for families, groups or individuals.
