Castrocucco is situated on a small hill overlooking the so-called Piana di Castrocucco, the only plain of the communal territory of Maratea. This plain is crossed by the river Noce, which leads in the Gulf of Policastro.
The whole coast of Castrocucco is surrounded by the beach of D'a Gnola, the largest beach of the Coast of Maratea. This beach is situated between the rocks under the castle of Castrocucco and the mouth of the river Noce, has very thin sand.
