Peschici, "the daughter of the rock" dominates the landscape from a high cliff dropping sheer to the sea. It is a picturesque town, surrounded by lush woods and vast pinewoods, whose outstanding features are white houses with gray domes, recalling the architecture of Arab casbah.
Along the road leading to the town, there are many caves inhabited by fishers, who invented a successful system of fishing, the trabucco.
Walking along the narrow streets carved in the rock or going up the winding stairs, you will be absorbed by the unique atmosphere created by the scent of cluster pines blending with brackish air, which mingle with the smell of rosemary and capers growing up spontaneously.

The coastal landscape is varied: little sandy bays and pebbly beaches alternate, as well as cliffs and long sandy shores with shallow waters. San Nicola Bay, Manacora Bay, Cala Lunga, Baia del Turco and above all Zaiana the wild -which is also called the beach of young people, because parties going on all the night long are organised during the summer- offer a great variety of landscapes and lifestyles for all kinds of visitors, which are rare to be found somewhere else in Gargarno.
