Foggia is located at the centre of the Tavoliere delle Puglie plateau. Foggia still preserves an interesting monumental and archaeological heritage: the Arch of Frederick II, the Cathedral, the Dogana and ruins Arpi (a short distance north, 8 km). The Giordano Theatre and the Town Museum are also of great interest; in the Piano delle Croci or Piano delle Fosse piazza, it is possible to admire the enormous grain cisterns, symbol of the city's economic history.
