LOCATION

The Hotel Parco dei Principi has recently been refurbished and presents itself as one of the most imposing and equipped Calabrian Hotel Structures. Situated in Scalea a picturesque town that takes the name from its terraced layout on the

hillside, a town that enjoys the clear blue sea on one side and the cool green mountains on the other at only few minutes away from each other.

Scalea is one of the Calabrian towns that make the "Riviera dei Cedri".

This "Riviera" is one of the few, if not the only, place on earth where the "Cedro" (lime) grows. An unusual fruit, that looks like a green enormous lemon is used to make a local popular liquor that takes it's same name.

As most of the Southern Italian towns, Scalea has it's "old town" placed on the heights, still preserving remains of ancient times, in fact, this town was no doubt, inhabited even in prehistorical times, as the

discoveries of the Palaeolithic Period that were excavated in a cavern near "The Talao Tower", show. This tower was built on the highest cliff of a small island in front of Scalea, for sentinels to guard the town from invaders coming from afar.
